Privacy policy
Gramkit collects nothing. It has no servers, no analytics and no account. What it stores stays in your browser, and it only talks to instagram.com.
What Gramkit stores, and where
Gramkit keeps a few things with your browser's extension storage, on your device:
- Your settings: shortcuts, switches, speed presets, language, daily limit and focus hours. These use the browser's synced storage, so if you've turned on sync in Chrome or Firefox, your browser copies them to your other devices through your Google or Mozilla account. Gramkit never sees them leave.
- Playback state: your last speed and volume.
- Time on Instagram today: a date and a number of seconds, used for the daily limit and the popup's readout. It resets every day.
- Recent profiles: the usernames of up to 15 profiles you opened lately, so the command palette can offer them.
Removing the extension deletes all of it. Nothing is sent to the developer or anyone else.
Network requests
Gramkit runs only on www.instagram.com. When you ask it to download a post, reel or story, it asks Instagram for that item's media, the same request instagram.com itself makes, using your existing session, and saves the files to Downloads/Gramkit/. It makes no other requests and loads no remote code.
Permissions
- Access to instagram.com: to add the controls, shortcuts and focus tools to the page.
- Storage: to keep the settings and state listed above.
- Downloads: to save the posts, reels, stories and frames you ask for.
What Gramkit never does
- No analytics, telemetry, crash reporting or ads.
- No reading or sending of your messages, passwords or cookies.
- No selling, sharing or transferring of any data, because there is none to share.
